Pedagogical Materials
One of the primary goals of the pedagogy committee is to promote improved teaching practices across the entire campus. We have attempted to do this through a number of means, including funding grant proposals for a variety of engaged teaching purposes, planning and organizing teaching workshops, conducting a faculty forum related to effective teaching practices, and leading a learning community informational program.
One additional way that we would like to promote improved teaching practices is through the sharing of assignments, readings, etc. across disciplines. Perhaps nowhere can this be more effective than in FYSE 101 and 102 courses, as these are certainly the most cross-discipline classes offered on campus.
We would like to encourage you to submit assignments, readings, or other suggestions that you think are particularly effective so that your colleagues might be able to utilize them in their own classes. We have gathered a small sampling of assignments below, and we strongly encourage you to submit your own examples to the committee (patek@marietta.edu)
