Welcome to the Academic Grants Office at Marietta College

As a member of the faculty or staff at Marietta College, you are encouraged to develop grant applications for research, to support the development of special projects, and to support other initiatives that strengthen the mission, strategic plan, and core values of the college. The Academic Grants Officer is available to provide assistance to you with the grant preparation process:  researching sources, developing concepts, organizing and writing material, formulating budgets, and reviewing proposal drafts.

At Marietta College, the Academic Grants Office functions as the Office of Sponsored Programs.  All requests for external funding are reviewed by the grants officer who will submit the forms for appropriate administrative approval before final submission.  After grants are received, the grants officer serves as a liaison to faculty and staff on grant administration, reports, and compliance with regulations concerning the appropriate expenditure of public or private funds.

This website has been designed to be a resource that you can use effectively at all stages of the grant cycle: to facilitate your search for grant sources, provide helpful information for grant writing, and clarify the college’s policies and procedures on grant submission and grant administration.  Announcements about grant deadlines are updated weekly, with links to requests for proposals.  Summaries of recent awards and of grants currently active at MC are also provided.

Please feel free to contact the grants office with questions or for assistance at any stage in the grant development or administrative process.
